Kiper mock 1.0 reaction: 49ers
In his first mock draft of the year, Mel Kiper Jr. has the San Francisco 49ers taking LSU receiver Odell Beckham Jr. with the 30th pick.I can see that happening. The 49ers need a receiver and Beckman (6-foot, 194 pounds) is a first-round talent. The All-America underclassman had 59 catches in 2013.The 49ers need youth at wide receiver and it will be one of the first positions they will consider, along with cornerback. If the 49ers stay at the bottom of the first round, a talent like Beckham would be a good get.

The San Francisco 49ers have overhauled their defensive line in free agency, bidding farewell to defensive tackle Arik Armstead and defensive end Chase Young while bolstering their ranks with the signings of defensive ends Leonard Floyd and Yetur Gross-Matos. Additionally, they acquired defensive tackle Maliek Collins via trade.
Having focused primarily on the defensive side of the ball in free agency, the 49ers are widely anticipated to turn their attention to the offensive side in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

We're just 10 days away from the start of the 2024 NFL Draft. While many gain more confidence about their projections for the top of the first round, the picture of what might happen further down remains murky. Most predict the San Francisco 49ers will use their first selection, No. 31 overall, on an offensive lineman. However, an early run on the position may alter those plans. The 49ers may address another position, or they may have to move up to secure a top prospect.

NFL Media's Adam Rank has thrown his hat into the mock draft ring. However, there's a slight twist. Rather than projecting what NFL teams will do in Round 1, he's sharing what he believes they should do in Round 1. For the San Francisco 49ers at No. 31 overall, Rank suggests general manager John Lynch should focus on upgrading the offensive line. Specifically, he recommends finding a replacement for Colton McKivitz at right tackle.
