49ers sign linebacker Manny Lawson

The San Francisco 49ers announced the signing of first round draft pick Manny Lawson today. Lawson was taken with the 22nd pick overall leaving tight end Vernon Davis as the only unsigned draft pick.
ESPN.com's John Clayton reports that it was a five-year, $8.515 million contract with the team.
Lawson was a Defensive End/Outside Linebacker from North Carolina State and is penciled in to start at linebacker.
Lawson is expected to take part in the team's first practice tomorrow morning as well as the 4pm practice which is open to the public.

Lawson (6-5, 240) played in 50 games at North Carolina State, starting 25 times. He finished his Wolfpack career with 196 tackles (125 solos) and 40 quarterback pressures. Lawson also caused five fumbles, recovered four others and deflected seventeen passes. He ranks second on the school’s all-time record with seven blocked kicks and fourth with 20.5 sacks for minus 163 yards.
It was a busy day for the 49ers as they also announced the
trade of quarterback Cody Pickett to the Houston Texans and the signing of six-year veteran defensive end Jerry DeLoach.

The San Francisco 49ers announced the signing of wide receiver Trent Taylor to a one-year deal, reuniting with the team's former fifth-round draft pick out of Louisiana Tech.
Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area was the first to report that the 49ers were discussing a potential reunion with Taylor. The receiver was part of head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch's first draft class in 2017 and spent his first four NFL seasons with the team.

49ers sign CB Rock Ya-Sin to a one-year deal
The San Francisco 49ers announced that they have signed cornerback Rock Ya-Sin to a one-year deal. He becomes the third cornerback to join the team this offseason. The Niners previously signed free agents Isaac Yiadom and Chase Lucas to one-year deals.

Ya-Sin (5-11, 195) was originally drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the second round (34th overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft. Draft Watch: Western Kentucky WR Malachi Corley visiting 49ers on Wednesday
The San Francisco 49ers are hosting several draft prospects this week as the deadline for pre-draft visits draws near. According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2, the team will host former Western Kentucky wide receiver Malachi Corley on Wednesday.
Corley is expected to be a Day 2 pick. San Francisco owns two selections on Day 2—the No. 63 overall pick in the second round and the No. 94 overall pick in the third round. Currently, the receiver is visiting with the Seattle Seahawks.
