The picks are in: 49ers receive 3 compensatory selections

San Francisco, which received a compensatory pick in the fourth round (No. 131 overall) and two more in the seventh round (Nos. 246 and 252), has a league-high 14 picks. Among those picks are five top-100 selections and seven picks in the first four rounds.

It is less than two weeks away from the 2024 NFL Draft, and the San Francisco 49ers finally have a first-round draft pick, after not having one the last two years. Who will they select? Will it be a defensive player? An offensive player? They could use help on the offensive line and in the secondary and defensive line. And they may also have multiple holes to fill a year from now. Either way, the 49ers need to hit on these draft picks, especially in the early rounds, where they haven't always been at their best. Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports that the San Francisco 49ers are discussing a potential reunion with wide receiver Trent Taylor. The team drafted Taylor out of Louisiana Tech in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, marking head coach Kyle Shanahan's first year with the 49ers. The #49ers are talking with free-agent slot receiver/return man Trent Taylor about a possible return to the team, according to a source.
