San Francisco 49ers cornerback Tarell Brown was on NFL Total Access today and had the following to say during his discussion:
On what his reaction to the Anquan Boldin trade was:
"Excited. I think any time you get a player of that calibre, which played in so many big games and made so many big plays, is special. So it definitely helps our team out and we're looking forward to having him."
On the 49ers acquiring Boldin for a sixth round pick:
"That's crazy. Excited."
On how much more dynamic the offense is now:
"I think you have a guy that can play inside and outside. A guy that makes big catches. You see what he did in the Super Bowl as well. A physical guy. A guy that competes every down, every play so it will be a great thing, a great addition to our team."
On Percy Harvin to the Seahawks:
"I think it's a good move for them. I think Percy Harvin is a great player. He does a great job of being an explosive player on the field. You have to account for him wherever he is and you try to double team that guy so I think Seattle did a great job of getting him and it's definitely a battle with the 49ers going against Seattle every year."
On whether he expects Dashon Goldson back:
"I hope so. I think he is the heart and soul of our secondary. He does a great job of putting us in position to make plays. The thing about Dashon is you have to account for him. Y'know, guys are afraid to go across the middle when you have safeties like Dashon Goldson and Donte Whitner."
On whether Derrelle Revis would fit in the 49ers' secondary:
"He might. I think so. Any time you can bring a player of that calibre to our team, i brings more competition back there. I think we have three good corners that's already there. The addition of him, that would help us out a lot. But, you also have to worry about the factor if his knee and trying to be healthy. So that's a big 'if' and you never know. The San Francisco 49ers will do what's best for the team and organization and we look forward to whatever they bring in."
On the "soap opera" that Revis would bring to the defense as far as competition is concerned:
"It's not that I don't want it. I think we have guys that have played a lot of ball and is doing really well in the secondary. You don't go to the Super Bowl without good secondary players. I think we've gotten there, we understand what it takes to get there, and we have the pieces to the puzzle. We just add a few more pieces to that puzzle and see where it takes us."
