Chrissy Mauck, of SF49ers.com, reports San Francisco 49ers TE Eric Johnson (foot), who spent all of 2005 on the Injured Reserve, will have to prove himself in the offseason in order to keep the starting job away from the team's first-round pick, TE Vernon Davis. However, offensive coordinator Norv Turner may choose to keep both on the field at the same time in place of a wide receiver or a fullback in order to put as many playmakers on the field as possible.
