The San Francisco 49ers host the Green Bay Packers in the Divisional Round of the 2012 NFL Playoffs. The two teams faced each other during Week 1 in Green Bay, with San Francisco winning 30-22. This marks the sixth postseason matchup between the Packers and 49ers, with Green Bay holding a 4-1 edge in the all-time series.
The 49ers earned the NFC West Division Championship for the second consecutive season and the 19th time in franchise history. Head coach Jim Harbaugh joined George Seifert as the only coaches in franchise history to win the NFC West in each of their first two seasons.
San Francisco (2 seed) had an NFL-high nine players selected to the Pro Bowl, including seven starters (LB Navorro Bowman, S Dashon Goldson, RB Frank Gore, G Mike Iupati, LB Aldon Smith, DT Justin Smith, T Joe Staley, S Donte Whitner and LB Patrick Willis).
