The San Francisco 49ers travel to St. Louis to square off against the Rams in a battle of NFC West foes. The 49ers hold a 62-61-3 edge in the all-time series, including a 31-30-1 advantage on the road. In their previous meeting this season, the teams played to a 24-24 tie at Candlestick Park.
San Francisco (8-2-1) enters the game after a 31-21 win at New Orleans last week. Linebacker Ahmad Brooks and safety Donte Whitner each returned an interception for a touchdown, while the defense tallied 5.0 sacks on quarterback Drew Brees.
On the other side of the ball, quarterback Colin Kaepernick completed 16 of 25 pass attempts for 231 yards and 1 touchdown, while running back Frank Gore led the ground game with 83 yards rushing on 19 carries.
The Rams (4-6-1) are coming off of a 31-17 win over the Arizona Cardinals.
