The New York Giants will represent the NFC in Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis on February 5. They beat the San Francisco 49ers 20-17 in overtime in the NFC Championship game on Sunday.
The New England Patriots beat the Baltimore Ravens earlier on Sunday, earning the right to face the Giants in the Super Bowl.
Quarterback Alex Smith was 12 of 26 for 196 yards and 2 touchdowns on Sunday.
Running back Frank Gore rushed for 74 yards.
