Michael Lombardi of NFL Network is reporting that the San Francisco 49ers are no longer in the race for Nnamdi Asomugha. Asomugha's choices are down to the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Jets.

Lombardi says that people in the 49ers organization are telling people around the league that they are no longer in this deal.

Johnathan Josesph, the free agent cornerback and former Bengal who was the 49ers' backup plan, signed with the Texans yesterday.

After releasing cornerback Nate Clements to free up salary cap room, this leaves San Francisco in a bad situation.
