Today, I spoke again with Walls, the Cowboys cornerback whom Clark soared over for "The Catch" in the NFC Championship Game after the 1981 season. Along with nearly 40 members of the 1981 49ers, Walls was the only member of the 1981 Cowboys in attendance to honor his friend Sunday on "Dwight Clark Day" at Levi's Stadium. Walls was able to speak with Clark, who has ALS, before the Cowboys' 40-10 win over the 49ers, which included an emotional halftime tribute to Clark. "I did get a chance to talk to him," Walls said.
