In six starts, Jones had 17 tackles and helped steady the NFL's 32nd-ranked run defense after he was claimed off waivers from the Dolphins on Nov. 8. In 2013, Jones — a sixth-round pick of the Texans — led AFC rookies with six sacks and started 11 games with the Patriots. In 2014, he had three sacks, made 12 starts and a won a title with New England, playing 14 snaps in the Super Bowl with a torn calf muscle that required offseason surgery.

The San Francisco 49ers announced that they have signed cornerback Rock Ya-Sin to a one-year deal. He becomes the third cornerback to join the team this offseason. The Niners previously signed free agents Isaac Yiadom and Chase Lucas to one-year deals.

Ya-Sin (5-11, 195) was originally drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the second round (34th overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft. The San Francisco 49ers are likely hoping that a top offensive lineman drops to them at No. 31 in the first round of this month's draft.
