Falcons offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan, the 49ers presumptive head coach, was named the Assistant Coach of the Year as selected by the Pro Football Writers of America. Shanahan, 37, oversaw an offense that scored 540 points, which matched the 2000 Rams for the eighth-most in NFL history.
