Report: 49ers plan to interview Cardinals executive McDonough

Arizona Cardinals executive Terry McDonough, whose 25-year NFL career began as an intern with the 49ers in 1989, is expected to interview with San Francisco on Friday for their general-manager opening, CSN Bay Area reported. McDonough has spent the last four years with Arizona, including the last three as their vice president of player personnel. ESPN analyst Louis Riddick, a former NFL executive, interviewed with the team Tuesday.

Report: 49ers CEO Jed York set to become principal owner

According to Ben Fischer of the Sports Business Journal, San Francisco 49ers CEO Jed York is preparing to assume the role of principal owner of the team by acquiring the necessary equity from his mother, Denise DeBartolo York. "The transaction and title change is subject to NFL approval, expected during the league meetings underway today in Orlando," Fischer wrote.
