Niners Score Late to Beat Rams Again
Maybe if the 49ers had been able to play the Rams every week, this season would have been much different.Unfortunately for the Niners, they only were scheduled to play their Southern California rival twice – but beat them both times.Saturday, the 49ers pulled off an unlikely victory, with two late touchdowns and a gutsy two-point conversion to beat the Rams 22-21 at the Los Angeles Coliseum. It was San Francisco's first victory since a 28-0 win over the Rams in the season opener. In between were a franchise-record 13 straight losses.Trailing 21-7 in the fourth quarter, the 49ers cut it to a one-score game, with Colin Kaepernick running 13 yards for a touchdown with just over 5 minutes remaining. Then, after forcing the Rams to punt, San Francisco marched 73 yards in 10 plays to score on Kaepernick's 10-yard pass to Rod Streater. The San Francisco 49ers likely aren't finished fortifying their defense and have reportedly expressed interest in bolstering their defensive backfield. If they require assistance making a significant move, one 49ers player is prepared to lend a helping hand.
Last week, the Buffalo Bills released All-Pro cornerback Tre'Davious White, who appears to be an ideal fit for San Francisco's needs opposite Charvarius Ward. Joshua Dobbs became the latest addition to the San Francisco 49ers' quarterback room after agreeing to a one-year contract with the team on Monday.
Dobbs, 28, has 2,920 passing yards in 21 games (14 starts) with 15 touchdowns and 13 interceptions in seven NFL seasons. He also has 91 carries for 496 yards and six rushing touchdowns and a 3-11 record overall as a starter.
Dobbs comes to 49ers as a well-traveled NFL veteran who most recently was with the Minnesota Vikings. But Dobbs isn't any ordinary NFL quarterback. Let's take a look at what to know about him as he begins his time with the 49ers.
