According to the Los Angeles Rams, QB Jared Goff was a full participant in practice today. That opens the door for the rookie, selected first overall, to start on Saturday against the San Francisco 49ers.

Goff suffered his concussion on a hit from Seattle Seahawks CB Richard Sherman last Thursday. The quarterback has lost all five of his starts since replacing Case Keenum. Barring a setback, Goff should be the quarterback that the 49ers face on their trip south to Los Angeles. Should he be unable to play, the Rams might start QB Sean Mannion ahead of Keenum.

49ers head coach Chip Kelly spoke a little bit about preparing for Goff while answering questions from the media this morning. "You have to be prepared for both him and Case [Keenum] and there's rumors that [Sean] Mannion may play," Kelly said. "So, you've got to be ready for all of them. Their offense hasn't changed drastically from Case to Jared. It's still their offense. The back is the feature player for them. [Todd] Gurley is as talented a guy as we'll face. He'll be the main stop.

"You've got to stop the run against these guys and then obviously Jared like any quarterback, and I've mentioned this before, the experience you get in game reps as a quarterback is totally different than practice reps because in practice you don't get hit and in a game you do get hit.

"You've seen him get better as the more snaps he's played. He throws a nice ball. It's catchable. He's very accurate when he has a chance to get his feet set. So, obviously, we need to disrupt the timing of the routes and try to get some pressure on him. When you give him time to throw, he's a very accurate thrower."

Goff has completed 54.7 percent of his passes during his starts and has a passer rating of 65.7. He has thrown four touchdowns and five interceptions.

49ers view Isaac Yiadom as leading candidate to start at CB, says insider

By David Bonilla
Mar 21

The San Francisco 49ers' signing of cornerback Isaac Yiadom to a one-year deal wasn't a headline-grabbing move. It wasn't even the Bay Area team's most significant free-agency move thus far. That would be defensive end Leonard Floyd signing a two-year deal with the 49ers. However, San Francisco hopes Yiadom proves to be one of its more underrated signings. The 28-year-old defensive back is coming off his best NFL season. Yiadom's 81.1 overall grade and 80.4 coverage grade from Pro Football Focus were career highs. Opposing quarterbacks completed 50 percent of their passes (22 of 44) and owned an 84.4 passer rating when targeting the former New Orleans Saints defender in 2023. RELATED:

The San Francisco 49ers likely aren't finished fortifying their defense and have reportedly expressed interest in bolstering their defensive backfield. If they require assistance making a significant move, one 49ers player is prepared to lend a helping hand. Last week, the Buffalo Bills released All-Pro cornerback Tre'Davious White, who appears to be an ideal fit for San Francisco's needs opposite Charvarius Ward. Over the weekend, Ward took to social media to reveal that he and White share the same agent and that he is willing to nudge the free-agent defensive back in the right direction. Ward described White as a "hand in glove
