Former Stanford Player, 49er Dead at Age 29
The football community in the Bay Area is in mourning Tuesday after learning that former Stanford University tight end and San Francisco 49er Konrad Reuland passed away after suffering a brain aneurysm.The 29-year-old football player, who was currently suiting up for the NFL's Baltimore Ravens, was pronounced dead Monday after originally enduring the medical issue on Nov. 28."We lost a Raven today," Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh told reporters during a post-game press conference Monday night. "Just want to offer condolences to his family. We love Konrad Reuland. Every single guy in that locker room loves him who knows him."Before signing with the San Francisco 49ers' practice squad as an undrafted free agent in 2011 and playing three seasons in the NFL with the New York Jets and Ravens, Reuland donned the red and white of Stanford in 2009 and 2010. However, on the field, Purdy can show some fire, particularly after a big play or in an effort to ensure his teammates are on the same page as him. The San Francisco 49ers are hosting several draft prospects this week as the deadline for pre-draft visits draws near. According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2, the team will host former Western Kentucky wide receiver Malachi Corley on Wednesday.
Corley is expected to be a Day 2 pick. San Francisco owns two selections on Day 2—the No. 63 overall pick in the second round and the No. 94 overall pick in the third round. Currently, the receiver is visiting with the Seattle Seahawks.
