Yesterday,
we took a look at the draft position of the San Francisco 49ers following their 12th-straight loss. The 49ers were defeated 23-17 in overtime by the New York Jets at Levi's Stadium. While the complete draft order included all of Sunday's games, it didn't include Monday night's game between the Baltimore Ravens and the New England Patriots. Of course, that game, won by the Patriots, had no impact on the 49ers' projected draft spot other than raising their strength of schedule by .003.
There are still three more weeks left in the NFL season so the order could shift before then. The winless Cleveland Browns, who lost their 13th game of the season, maintain the top spot. A Cleveland win before the end of the season would help boost San Francisco into the top spot should the 49ers continue to underperform and lose.
The 49ers have the Atlanta Falcons, Los Angeles Rams, and Seattle Seahawks remaining on their schedule. The Browns have the Buffalo Bills, San Diego Chargers, and Pittsburgh Steelers remaining on theirs.
Below is the current draft order, based on playoff seeding (21-32), record, and strength of schedule (SOS), for all 32 first-round spots
if the season ended today. Of course, the order of playoff teams would eventually be determined by the completed playoff picture and Super Bowl winner.

Potential 49ers defensive draft target visiting this week
Last week, it was reported that the San Francisco 49ers planned to host former Kentucky cornerback Andru Phillips on a pre-draft visit. NFL Network's Mike Garafolo confirms that the visit will take place during the upcoming week, which marks the final opportunity for such visits to occur.
Phillips will also meet with the Chicago Bears and Houston Texans this week.
Adding a noteworthy tidbit to the social media post, Garafolo mentions, "A likely second-round pick, though some evaluators have first-round grades on
Insiders identify late risers who 49ers could target in NFL Draft
With the 2024 NFL Draft less than a week away, ESPN contributors have highlighted some prospects who have seen their draft stock rise throughout the evaluation process. Jordan Reid and Matt Miller pinpointed players who could hear their names called at the end of the first round.
Interestingly, both of the prospects identified by Reid and Miller play in the trenches but on different sides of the ball. The San Francisco 49ers are widely expected to draft an offensive lineman with their first selection—No. 31 overall. The team mostly ignored the group in free agency. However, it wouldn't surprise many people if the
49ers bolster D-line in latest NFL.com mock draft
While most expect the San Francisco 49ers to target an offensive lineman with their first-round pick, NFL Media lead draft writer Eric Edholm has the team going in another direction with the No. 31 overall pick. In his final mock draft of the year, Edholm has the team selecting former Illinois defensive tackle Jer'Zhan Newton, who also goes by "Johnny."
"If you're worried Newton's skill set overlaps too much with that of Javon Hargrave, consider that Hargrave is set to hit the salary cap at more than $28 million in the 2025 season -- when he'll be 32 years old," Edholm explained. "As a relentless scheme-wrecker, Newton would help alleviate the
