Figured I'd throw a topic up for this guy...he is 6-6 294 lbs and has 33 1/2 inch arms. I think he would be a great replacement for Justin Smith!

He is projected as a 4th round pick on CBS's big board, but I'd snag him in the 3rd

BIG fan of this kid. Excellent work ethic. Real tough motor. Arik Armstead can get drafted in the 1st just because of his raw potential. Can't believe Anderson is projected to go in the 4th despite his consistency.

I think Anderson's a good DL...but I'd have to be convinced he can be great...so would hesitate to even think he can really replace Justin. I'd rather see Baalke grab Goldman or Brown...both of whom I think can be studs.

I'm talking about a 3rd round pick here not top 15....Goldman or Brown wouldn't be replacing Justin Smith's spot anyway. I'm higher on Brown than Goldman if I had to choose.
Goldman does have some solid pass rush, but his run stop isn't very good and he struggles to disengage from blockers. His motor is hot and cold to me.
I see better value for Anderson in the 3rd vs Goldman or Brown with the 15th.
You sure have been campaigning for these two lol

MadDog wrote this about Anderson and after watching him on tape more I totally agree!
"He is a half-step slow from making twice as many sacks and tackles in chasing down RBs, which reminded me of JJ Watt (who has a similar build). Watching some games of Watt playing at Wisconsin this week, I witnessed that similar half-step slow from making play after play: Ex; A hit instead of a sack (although Watt was still better than Anderson, no doubt). Anderson is no Watt, but he can be a poor-man's Watt, and for a third round value, some team is going to get a stud 34DE"

I'd like him in the 3-4th range.
I thought he played good, solid football when I saw him.

Just love those players with NON STOP motor...
They don't get all stats while at the same time, their motors are the one that helps out the guy next to him get the great stats..
80s - GARY "Big Hands" JOHNSON - MANU TUIASOSOPO - DWAYNE BOARD
90s - HOLT - f*gAN - ROBERTS
2K - JUSTIN ALL ALONE... can you imagine had McGrew and Balmer were besides him??

I don't think we can wait until the 3rd without a trade. This is a Fangio kinda guy, and I would say one of the best 3/4 DE's coming out this year. If he's available for the Bears in the 3rd, there is no doubt in my mind they would snatch him right from under us.
I love his play and his attitude, and think he would make a great 49er, hopefully Baalke can work it out

Sounds like a great guy in the 2nd or 3rd to bring in to compete with Carradine, Dial, Dorsey/Williams (whoever isn't starting NT). Not sure about you guys but I see a little Justin Smith in his style. Also, with our injuries especially at DL these past few years it won't hurt to have a guy like him as a backup. Definitely could use the help of our vets to learn more moves while getting stronger in the arms, legs, etc. Bulk him up a bit and get him stronger. I see one site has a Brett Keisel comparison as his upside which would be perfectly fine with me but like I said he could benefit sitting behind our vets for a year getting stronger and working on his moves.

Yup if he is there with our 3rd pick they should snag him!

I was watching his tape on draft breakdown and he really looked impressive. He is great at splitting the guard and center or guard and tackle and getting penetration. I also tried to compare his tape to Arik Armstead's because there are a few mocks out there that have us taking him. The one thing that made it difficult for me to compare the two of them is Armstead is double teamed most of the time and Anderson is rarely doubled. Anderson seems to have a better motor.
Anderson in the 4th > Armstead in the 1st
Anderson in the 4th > Armstead in the 1st

The great thing about this highlight video is that...it is all from one game. This was a monster game. He is the closest thing to JJ Watt since JJ came out. He won't be Watt, nobody will, but you are getting a very disruptive player perfectly constructed for a 34DE role. Superb on the field awareness: much better than Leonard Williams in this regard.

Yeah he look solid in the Utah game on the draft breakdown link as well .....Ultimately what round do you think he goes? Do you think he is worth a 2nd round pick?
