This is going to be a big year in free agency for us, as we'll most likely be losing several big name veterans.
Resign
- Perrish Cox
- Kyle Nelson
- Josh Johnson
- Chris Cook
Cut
- Ahmad Brooks
- Marcus Cromartie
- Craig Dahl
Restructure
- Patrick Willis
- Stevie Johnson
Sign
- Christian Ponder, QB- Blaine Gabbert esque signing on the cheap hopefully
- Jacquizz Rodgers, RB- I've always liked Rodgers since he came out of the draft. Now we have the chance to sign him to fight for some carries
- Lance Kendricks, TE- Many people choosing Vigil Green as the tight end of choice but by all accounts, he's not leaving Denver. I'll take the former 1st rounder.
- Sergio Brown, S- Great special teamer and can play multiple roles in the defensive backfield.
Draft
1. Eddie Goldman, DT, FSU, 6-4 336
I think he can be a versatile player on the defensive line. He has long arms, big hands, and is extremely powerful. He was the best player on Florida State's defense and I think he will be the BPA at 15.
2. Ronald Darby, CB, FSU, 5-11 193
Another Florida State player, Darby is extremely athletic and fluid. He has the potential to be a playmaking cornerback.
-TRADE UP (3rd round pick and 5th round pick for a later 2nd round pick)
2b. Phillip Dorsett, WR, Miami, 5-10, 185
Speed Speed Speed. Dorsett has proven he can take a top off a defense. Not only does he have exceptional straight line speed, but he is also very quick. I think he has great upside in the league and as an added bonus he is the prototypical player to burn #25 up in Seattle.
4. Robert Myers, OG, Tennessee State, 6-5, 326
Very underrated prospect in my opinion. Long arms and powerful, has the ability to pull very well. Surprisingly technically sound for a "raw" prospect from a small school. I think he can come in and compete from the get-go.
4b. Karlos Williams, RB, FSU, 6-1 230
I know I know another Seminole but he can be a steal. A former safety convert, Williams is extremely athletic but is a bit raw as a runner. Under Rathman, I think Karlos can reach his potential. In the meantime he can be a great and willing special teamer who fights for some carries.
6. Chris Bonner, QB, Colorado State, 6-7,225
Kind of a sleeper from a small school. Training camp quarterback with a lot to prove.
7. Jordan Taylor, WR, Rice, 6-5, 210
Tall, lanky receiver who can stand to add some muscle. Has a lot of potential as a former quarterback with a lot of speed and yac ability. Could be a nice practice squad candidate.
7b. Ellis McCarthy, NT, UCLA, 6-5, 338
Former 5 star recruit who disappointed. Huge guy with 34 inch arms. We have a great record developing late round defensive line players so McCarthy could be another great candidate.
