Superb feet and agility to pop out of his breaks and close on the ball -- explosively quick. Natural interceptor with very good hand-eye coordination, leaping ability and overall ball skills. Very good vision and traffic burst as a returner (six career kickoff-return TDs)."

Highly productive -- totaled 195 receptions for 2,881 yards (15.4-yard average) and 21 TDs in last two seasons. Confident and competitive. Has been exceptionally durable dating back to high school. Team captain. Will be a 21-year-old rookie."

Very good ball skills -- consistently makes plays on the ball. Very willing in run support and plays bigger than his size. Athleticism was on display at the combine -- 40-yard dash (4.38 seconds), 3-cone drill (6.69), short shuttle (4.00) vertical jump (39 inches) and broad jump (10 feet, 8 inches) ranked among the best of the cornerbacks."

RD 3 #100

DT Justin Ellis LOUISIANA TECH

6'-2" 334

Per NFLDRAFTSCOUT.com

"Large, wide body and carries his weight well. Long arms for his frame and extends well, using his active hands to work off blocks. Has really improved in this area, bullying with heavy hands. Explosive off the ball and a quick thinker, reacting well to what the blockers want to do. Attacks with pure momentum, not afraid to use a spin move, making it tough for blockers to latch on. Load to handle. Good pocket vision and awareness to track and crash down on the ball or chase the ballcarrier outside. Anchors well at the point of attack and has a stout build. Nice job getting his paw up to swat the ball out of the air. Nonstop motor and ferocious demeanor. Try-hard type who gets the most out of his ability. Versatile experience, lining up at various inside positions in college."

RD 7 #242

OLB Khairi Fortt CALIFORNIA

6'-2" 250 4.69 40

Per NFLDRAFTSCOUT.com

"Good size with a muscular build. Field fast -- moves like a safety. Very athletic and agile. Plays on his feet and bends naturally. Excellent lateral agility -- flows smoothly and has sideline-to-sideline range. Uses his arms like flippers to play off blocks. Loose-hipped to drop into coverage and match with backs and tight ends. Has traits to excel on special teams. Bench-pressed 225 pounds 30 times, tied for most among linebackers at the combine."

RD 7 #243

OT/OG Justin Britt MISSOURI

6'-6" 325

Per NFLDRAFTSCOUT.com

" Looks the part of today's prototypical left tackle, possessing impressive height, very long arms and a trim middle. Good initial quickness, especially as a run blocker, firing off the ball to turn and seal defenders from the action. Physical. Gets a strong initial shove on the opponent, which oftentimes is enough to knock them onto their heels. He has a wide base with good bend and flexibility in his kick-slide to keep the pocket clean. Plays with his knees bent, butt down and on the balls on his feet, giving him good balance. Slides well laterally to mirror defenders and uses his arm length and powerful shoves to keep opponents at bay. Good awareness and competitive spirit. Peels back to knock down unsuspecting defenders in pursuit of ball-carriers. Experienced left and right tackle and some view him as a potential guard convert due to his power and tenacity."

We give up a high pick next year but add great talent that each player can contribute immediately and we add options with return specialist that also solidify our secondary.

We have to address safety depth via street FA or possible late camp cuts.

Forgive me but we give up an early pick next year and still don't fill all our needs?

This is a deep draft. I would prefer to stick and take what's available. And certainly not use up part of next years picks.

Let's see. Two 1st round picks, two 2nd round picks, two 3rd round picks and a 4th and 5th round pick for 2 CB's and a small speed WR. Doesn't sound to good to me either.

Actually, it could be one 1st, this years #30 and three 2nds depending on the trade partner.

Given three picks in the top 40 as equal trade chart value, with #15 being the highest, is there a stronger 3 players you think could step in and contribute more to our immediate needs?
With that 3.37 40 time, Gilbert won't last long!

Thus giving up early picks to secure his services.....

Thanks, correcting now.

Seeing as though you are using 9 picks to get those 3 players the real question is if there is a stronger 9 players than those 3.
How about Kyle Fuller,Donte Moncreif,Gabe Jackson,Cody Latimer,Pierre Desir,Craig Loston,Dri Archer,Aaron Colvin plus our 2nd or 1st round pick in 2015?

Agree with you on the numbers, but are 9 players from this draft going to make the 53 man roster?

Those 9 would make the team with Colvin heading for the pup list. 2 CB's make your draft and 2 are in my list. We could spot 2 WR's - we would have to dump Baldwin and maybe Osgood or LLoyd, Jackson could replace Looney or Snyder assuming we have no preseason injuries,Loston could replace 1 of our back up safties, Archer would be the return man we have needed.

Lol that's one fast mother f**ker.

This would be very sexy coming away with those three guys, but it's too much to give up in my opinion. We need to address OLB, DE, ILB, Center, and possibly safety as well. And it'd be nice to fill those positions within the first 5 rounds.

I would love to have Gilbert, Verrett and Cook on the team but seriously giving up all these picks in this years draft which is one of the best in memory AND a high pick next year is just bad roster management. Sure, we need CBs and a speed WR, you even grab a nice OLB, OG here and our roster would def be improved for next season but this isn't how you sustain a good young roster.
Agree w/English...your mock gives up too much for not enough reward. Not sure Gilbert's worth trading up far for. Some think Dennard's better. Verrett's fine, but getting Fuller would be just as effective IMHO without giving up much to get him.

Cooks is the only WR taken. I know Baalke likes him and all, but in the NFC West you'd better have some good-sized WR's in addition to speed. With Crabtree entering the last year on his rookie contract, it'd be wise to draft his potential replacement. Pair Cooks up w/another bigger WR with speed and you have something moving forward.

Ellis sounds imposing all right, but projects as a NT in Fangio's defense. That's not really a position of need. A 5-technique guy to groom as Ray Mac's replacement would be a better option. It's possible they're looking at Jerod-Eddie as that guy, but not sure that's a given.

An OLB in the 7th rd...if they do cut ties w/Aldon, I'd think Baalke would go after a Marcus Smith, Attaochu, Ford or maybe Lawrence. You have no ILB in your mock...I'd expect Baalke to get one for depth/future starter.

Although a late rd pick, don't really see much of a need for another OG/OT. With Martin, Seymour, Looney and Snyder, Harbaugh's got good OL depth.
Pass. Too much given up for too little return.

This x1000.
I think we can do a hell of a lot better w/this deep draft.
