Jets have been drafting extremely well (besides vernon gholston) lately, add in smart decisions in FA and thats how you build a contender. They will be a force next season

Tannenbaum is getting it done, I wish our team was as aggressive in trying to get better.
I have two questions for the mb, is Holmes they type of player that Singletary is supposed to be able to get through to?
and the second, is the Niners locker room strong enough or mature enough to deal with a head case like Holmes or are they too young?

I think the thing that scared teams away was that Holmes was one more violation away from being suspended for the entire year (IIRC).

With his inability to stay away from trouble this far (even in a steeler organization).

Teams probably didnt even wanna risk it and be on the hook for his salary (no cap, but still)

The only reason more teams were not in the mix is simply how quickly Pittsburgh dealt him. The deal was complete a mere 48 hours after they put him on the block. This was a unique situation, otherwise it would have been a multi team bid, and had Pittsburgh waited longer they would have got a better pick from someone else. Pittsburgh wanted to eradicate one of their PR problems instantaneously though and that was their primary motive to get him out in the next 48 hrs, no way any of the teams would have known that.

Jets got lucky. First come, first served.

Maybe some GMs were on a fishing trip right before the draft and didnt get the memo that he was on the block huh.

It wouldn't surprise me.

Are the Steelers sending a message to their QB?

Yes- We will trade a teammate for every girl you sexually assault.

The Jets' recently acquired wide receiver was escorted off a plane Thursday night at the Pittsburgh airport for being "a disruptive passenger," according to Pittsburgh TV station WPXI. Another station, KDKA, is reporting that the alleged incident occurred at about 9 p.m. ET.

No charges were filed, but an Allegheny County Police Department report states that Holmes refused to turn off his iPod when the crew asked all passengers to turn off electronic devices in preparation for landing.

In his defense, it was a really good song.

No wonder all they got was a 5th round pick for him.
