Don't understimate Silva's strength, especially at 205. He's more comfortable at LHW than you may think considering he walks around at 220. And if I remember right he rag dolled Bonnar pretty good in their last fight. And Hendo and Sonnen have Olympic caliber wrestling. Jones goes up to the JUCO level.
No doubt Silva is strong enough to fight regularly at 205. The problem is Jones is more than likely strong enough to fight at heavyweight. Jones has ragdolled not only Bonnar, but a lot of former champs at 205 as well. As impressive as Silva's career has been, nobody has had more of an impressive run to the top as Jones in my opinion. He can of course be knocked out, and Silva may have the greatest chance of doing it, but I don't think Jones would have to stand and strike too much anyway.

Jon Jones would take Anderson Silva down and hurt him real bad. Of course Silva's chances would be much greater if he could avoid the takedown, but you guys really think he could stop Jones when we've already seen smaller Hendo and Sonnen put him on his back before?
I agree on Jones being able to take Silva down and GNP. The thing with Jones is that he has an abundance of tricks in the takedown department. He doesn't usually go for the double leg or single leg in his fights. He's more of a greco-roman wrestler that likes to be close in the clinch to take someone down.

Yikes, looks like Stephen Bonner, who announced his retirement from MMA this week, tested positive for a drug test from UFC 153.
If I was told I had to fight Spider Silva, I'd be 'roided out of my mind and on PCP.

Exactly. Guys get picked apart from a far due to his long range, they fight like hell taking abuse to get inside and then when they finally do get close enough to do anything they have to deal with his great clinch game. The way he tosses around these other LHW's is something else. If Jones were to stay at LHW, I think he eventually would be known as the undisputed P4P king. That being said, it will be interesting to see if he has the same kind of success at HW.
Also I'd like to note that I wouldn't rule out a Spider KO victory... that would be foolish. I'd just give the edge to Jones.
To those of you that follow kickboxing/muay thai/K1, Tyrone Spong has made his transition to MMA and had his debut in the World Series of Fighting on Friday. He showed, what we all expected, very good standup. He threw unbelievable kicks in all three levels and threw devastating body shots. Although he fought a scrub, still a pretty good debut. He's training with the Blackzillians with good friend Overeem. Spong could be a monster in the 205 lb division.
On the same card, Anthony "Rumble" Johnson dominated yet another fight at the 205 lb division. He's looked almost unstoppable since the move up in weight that EVERYONE has been clamoring for. He's 4-0 since being cut from the UFC.
Seems to fight wild and keeps his hands too low. He'd have huge trouble against guys like Machida and Shogun. Good to see Rumble doing well. I still wonder if he's going to have issues making weight at 205 too :)

Spong will fix that. He'll grow the longer he trains. His standup is the least of my worries. We're talking about a muay thai wrecking machine that's as strong as an ox. He almost beat Overeem in K1. He was able to take the Reem's shots. Spong's also got a wicked liver punch that he lands with accuracy.

Yup. The free cards are looking better than the PPV ones.

I like Pettis but I'm a big Cerrone fan. I hope the fight goes all three rounds.
On a side note, the UFC has signed Rhonda Rousey. Looks like there will be a women's division.
