They wouldn't be able to have a fight between cm punk and anyone with any real experience sanctioned. It was always going to be a guy with just a fight or two. We just got a name and face to put to it that's all.

..so im guessing the answer to the question is no..
The guy made the UFC roster after 1 professional fight, and then proceeded to beat a guy making his professional debut (who lost his only amateur fight 7 years ago, yet somehow was signed by the UFC?). Excuse me if his win was about as impressive as the Warriors taking on a WNBA team. Totally amazing victory. We should be in awe of Mickey Gall!

It's not that uncommon for luchadors or professional wrestlers to fight in mma.
Alot of New Japan dudes fight /fought in mma circuits.
Erik Perez, Mexican Luchador , already won TWICE in the UFC.
I wouldn't mind if Punk lost because maybe ,just maybe, he'd go back to wrasslin.
He's old a f,but some of those mma has beens are still fighting out there that are like 40.
