Great fight and card. Lawler blew it in the end by allowing himself to get taken down in the final minute. That lost him the fight IMO. Joe Rogan hit it right on the head when Hendricks was clearly going for the takedown and Joe said "Johnny Hendricks looking for the takedown of his life"

Still think Hendricks had the 5th slightly, but it could have gone either way. The takedown solidified it for sure though.

Yup. That was an epic fight.
Was bummed how the Woodley vs. Condit fight ended. That had all the makings of a great fight as well.
good fight. Lawler had his chance to take hendricks out in the 3rd or 4th, can't remember. I was yelling at hendricks to grab onto lawler when he was hurt, but he didn't listen.

LOL dammit they never listen!

great fight! 3rd round i remember telling myself hendricks is getting too comfortable keeping those hands low right before eating that left. Hendricks still wins the 5th even without that takedown, don't forget he rocked Lawler in the temple and dazed him a little before the TD.

i could see these this turning into a trilogy. when lawler started giggling during the middle of a hendricks combo, i was just laughing too even though i was pulling for hendricks. said it before though, big fan of both.

I agree with Rogan, Rory will probably get the next shot just because of the way woodley won. he'll give hendricks problems IMO.
I thought Lawler was in his mid to late 30's. Dude is only 31. Been fighting forever it seems.
missed the whole card

hopefully they televise it on FS1 next month

glad to hear the card was great and the main event was worth the money. two guys everyone knew would go to war for that belt.

reminder that another UFC event on this Sunday: Henderson vs. Shogun 2

Former UFC lightweight champion Benson 'Smooth' Henderson will face 17-1 Rustam Khabilov in the five round main event June 7 in Albuquerque

dont like this fight for my boy bendo. as the second or third best lightweight in the world he shouldnt be fighting someone outside of the top 10. nothing to gain for him.

i agree, but khabilov is no joke either. if ben wants to get back into the thick of things, he needs to handle Khabilov

finally found a good link to watch the Hendricks/Lawler fight. WOW what an awesome fckin fight! the two absolutely went at it. Hendricks really showed his development as an MMA fighter, mixing up his hands combos, leg kicks, and knees. showed a lot of heart, too after getting rocked in the 3rd and 4th rds. Lawler looked great, too mixing up his hands, but IMO, should really incorporate his leg kicks more. he landed them well at the start of the 3rd.

i can honestly picture these guys having a trilogy.

yea it's fantastic. he just got pretty fatigued in the 5th, plus i think he got hurt with Hendrick's last combo+leg kick prior to the takedown

yeah hendricks corner called it too right before the fifth. they said lawler was only coming on strong the first minute the first couple rounds.
