Should change the title to some big hits and a lot of pushing guys to the ground.
At the end of the day, the guys who cant stop shaking in their old age because of brain damage probably played the tougher sport...

The no pads thing is just because they dont hit nearly as hard. Sports Science did a whole thing about how NFL hits are as violent as car accidents.
Violent as car accidents, sports science, brain damage are the typical arguments for those with no idea about rugby league and union.

From what ive seen the tackling skills and standards in the NFL is so below par that its frankly embarrassing to even compare it to 2nd tier Union and League. Players in the NFL especially the skilled position are protected and most everything amounting to a good hit is penalized. Most NFL players would rather run off bounds or dive to ground than try bulldoze their way through a brick wall. This isnt even mentioning all the blocking and padding that they use.

Playing either top line Rugby Union and Rugby League is like playing with real bullets and not paint balls like they do in the NFL.

Dont get me wrong, I love the strategy of NFL but as far as which is the tougher sport, its no question that its either rugby codes over football.

Rugby players dont suffer from a brain damage epidemic, do they?
Again better tacklers as a whole in Rugby League and Rugby Union, they are also made of sterner stuff. Knock outs in Rugby is common but in most instances players and teams simply practice more effective tackling instead of wrapping players up in cotton blankets via rule changes such as fair catches.

they got some fat rugby players from no where put meters on them and then did some frontal tackling....then they bought some guy from the nfl and he smashes a dummy with gauges in it......Apple and oranges my friend ...The biggest piece of s**t that played to a local audience...

of course they do....We had a player in his prime retire mid season because he was concussed and a week or two later he was concussed by mild knocks to the head..Doctors advised him to retire, sadly.

sports science did a brief myth buster type experiment which did not use top rugby league player moving at speed.....I watched it and nearly laughed at the audacity to present this as scientific proof

The modern game of rugby league requires you to strategically hold the offensive player up there by slowing the play the ball down so the defense can get back on side....They if they desired could knock them to ground.

Yeah, and the modern NFL game requires players to take the violence out of the hits. As retarded as that sounds, it's where the game is going. That's why you see a lot of poor tackling. Because guys are getting fined $70,000 for hitting a guy the way they should be hitting them. That said, there's still plenty of big hits.
