That got f**ked up in 2nd half. Without Messi - this team looks
This should not happen with loaded roster.

Yeah, there are enough superstars on the roster that Messi shouldn't be necessary to win. Helpful, and great to have, but not necessary.
Athletico is Athletico though.

Well, not this time. Looked slow and sloppy today. We'll see what happens in the return fixture.

Atletico Madrid is a pain in the ass opponent. It's one team I don't want to face in knockouts.
Diego Simeone is one hell of a coach. Dude is winning big games with less talent. Now, he does have a lot of talent, let's not forget that...but he's beating teams like Barca, Real Madrid, Bayern. Those rosters are stacked at almost every single position.
They also remind me how the way teams played when I was growing up. Still prefer watching Bayern and Barca's fluidity...but there is some beauty in the Atletico's roughness and ruggedness as well - and then making it count with few chances.
It just feels like Simeone is better at the game of chess than anyone else right now.

Rough week for Bayern, loss at A.Madrid then a draw at home against Koln.
This is the hardest part of the season usually, Bayern have played 7 games in 21 days.

Real drew also....looks like a lot of the top teams were just worn out after that run
