The San Francisco Bay Area has 8 million people in total BTW. That number goes up if you include all the fans driving from the Sacramento area. But, you can only sell out your max seating capacity.
I know you probably take it as an insult, but its true that midwesterners have nothing else to do but sports and food, so they get VERY passionate about those 2 things. Its more impressive that a place like the Bay Area is selling out baseball games with such a variety of things to do instead.
I just Googled "San Francisco population"
I don't take it as an insult at all because I don't agree with it at all. Arch, Lacledes Landing, City Museum, one of, if not the best, FREE zoo in the US, Science Center, Hidden Valley ski/snowboarding, multiple concert venues, Missouri Botanical Garden, numerous casinos, live theater events, multiple amusement parks, multiple festivals/fairs, go check out Delmar Loop, a park every other exit, STL Art Museum, brewery tour, Magic House. I could keep going. The mindset of those who believe its "just sports and food" just PROBABLY haven't been to St. Louis very long at all. I know you said midwest, but just using STL as a example. Now they are very passionate about sports and food, but to say there is "nothing else to do" is just incorrect.
^Videos will give you a better example.
