Should the NL adopt the DH?
Pitchers hitting is pretty retarded considering, well, they can't.
Not to mention you subject them to unnecessary danger. Bean balls... running the bases... hamstrings etc...
I think the biggest benefit would be, to me, to get some young guys at bats. You have an extra spot where you can get a look at guys and see what they got.

The NL will eventually have a DH.i dont like it though.
How many pitchers have gotten hurt batting? I can't think of any off the top of my head.

GGG...
Why not just use designated fielders then? Why use the big clunky LF in the outfield when you could make the game more exciting by putting a defensive whiz there instead? The game is exciting and interesting in its original form. IMO the DH actually made the AL game more boring.
The game of baseball involves pitchers having to hit for themselves. The AL trying to increase interest in the 70's shouldnt set the new standard.
NL baseball requires strategy and the usage of the entire team on a regular basis. The DH is just a gimmick to attract casual fans by increasing offense.

I'm not saying I agree with it but I think eventually the NL will be a DH league. Pitchers are an automatic out and there is minimal strategy until the last 3 innings of the game.
Pitcher most likely will have 2-3 ABs that will probably lead to outs.
It's a topic MLB and the new commish will be discussing the next few years.
Either NL will adopt or AL will detract the DH, i would put my $ on the former.

oh look DH talk again lol
dudes love it cause you can extend a guys career by 5 years easy
V Mart is #2 in batting avg. right now
he plays a few games at 1B and Catcher otherwise a full DH
and lets be real a guy hitting a HR is much more exciting than a pitcher laying down a sac bunt

Where do you think Kershaw is going to go down in history? Dude's gonna have 3 Cy Youngs and he's 26 years old. First to 16 wins this year despite being on the DL for 5 weeks.

I think he will go down as one of the 5 best left hand pitchers to ever play and will be a Hall of Famer. Of course injuries can change things but I dont see that happening for Kershaw given his size and throwing motion.
Sandy Koufax
Randy Johnson
Steve Carlton
Warren Spahn
Clayton Kershaw

That's some pretty ridiculous company. His WHIP this year is the 3rd best amongst starting pitchers in the last 100 years.

Seattle Mariners catcher Jesus Montero, currently rehabbing an oblique injury with the team's Class A Everett AquaSox affiliate, reportedly got into a heated altercation Thursday with a scout from his team.
Jesus Montero reportedly got into an altercation with a Mariners scout at the team's Single-A game on Thursday.
According to MiLB.com, Montero was coaching first base when the scout yelled at him to hustle off the field at the conclusion of the inning. A game official said the scout then ordered an ice cream sandwich and had it sent to Montero in the dugout.
Montero -- who made news for reporting to spring training 40 pounds overweight this season -- did not appreciate the gesture. He approached the stands with a baseball bat, screaming profanities, and threw the ice cream sandwich at the scout. Montero had to be restrained by the team's pitching coach, according to the game's official scorer.
I'm so glad the Yanks traded his lazy, fat ass to Seattle. What a bum.

@RyanDivish: Zduriencik said Montero won't play baseball again this year.
@shannondrayer: Zduriencik will meet with Montero in Seattle- Our intent is to address Jesus' issues. There is a history here of things that have happened,
