Abad looked pretty solid. Certainly cleaned up Johnson's mess.
I sorta wish try would have given Doo the closer job after Balfour left.

I believe the A's will set a record with 10 straight Opening Day losses if they do end up losing.
Edit: They just put up the graphic and yep, will be an MLB record. Thanks Barton.

Reddick late on a 92-mph meatball right down Broadway.

I'm convinced we will never win on opening day ever again.

Johnson wasn't that great last season. Dude had his struggles. Same as Balfour. Honestly, I'd take Gregerson or Doolitte as the closer right now.

I'm still shaking my head on how that blast didn't even leave the ballpark.

I don't like that Johnson was even in the game. No need to use your closer in a 0-0 game on opening day. Give another arm the inning once the A's don't score in the 8th.
As for Barton - great baserunning (wild pitch) followed by boneheaded baserunning.
EDIT: WTF 49erwebzone - how was the post of another user put into my post text???

It literally went 400 feet dead center and hit off the top of the wall but Barton was too much of an idiot to realize no one was going to catch it. He started tagging up instead of just running.
