There are several teams where there is no clear cut "face of the franchsie"
Cubs
A's
White Sox (unless you want to count an old Paul Konerko)
Padres
Astros
Indians

Anthony Rizzo - Cubs
Yoenis Cespedes - A's
Jason Kipnis - Indians

In my opinion.
Kipinis and Rizzo wouldnt even be recognized outside of their own cities. But, yes they are the teams best players I suppose.

Castro-Cubs

Surprised it was Kipnis instead of Santana

I was putting Sale as the face of the White Sox.

lol Castro isnt the face of anything. Hes lazy and immature.

Whats the criteria? Just being the best player on the team? Most beloved by that fanbase?

Apparently its fanbase because the Indians faithful picked Kipnis, not Santana.

Kipnis is a better player, so that makes sense.

This
The Balfour deal with the Orioles is put on hold because apparently he has a shoulder injury. How the Orioles miss that before they made the initial offer is a mystery.
There were no grumblings when Darvish was posted for the highest bidder, but the Japanese baseball officials state if they post Tanaka, its a concession that their baseball league is a minor league farm system to MLB. Will Tanaka pitch in the bigs next year? Ever?

Of course he will pitch in MLB. It just might not be next year.

February 1st will tell the tale. Hopefully they can get this insecurity settled before that date.

The Red Sox signed a Japanese submariner......where's the big deal over that?

Coming as early as this season to a major league mound near you.

Looks like a bike helmet to me.

Pitchers would go on strike before theyd go to the mound wearing that ridiculous thing.

Sports in general needs to stop trying to make everything 100% safe. These athletes get paid SO much money, and they go in knowing the risks. Sometimes a freak accident happens, and they get hit by a line drive. The minor league 3rd base coach that was killed by a line drive is why they now make the base coaches wear helmets, but the guy who died was hit in the neck, where helmets dont protect in the first place.
