Im sure I will get blasted but I think it could be a great hire. Bama gets a great recruiter and a guy that called a NCG win. The reduced capacity of OC may bring out the best in Kiffin. If Kiffin becomes a cancer make no mistake Saban will pull the plug on him in a heartbeat. In my mind this is Kiffins last stop chance at legitimacy and I think Sabans mentorship will be good for him. No debate though Kiffin is a dbag but he's Bamas dbag now. For better or worse.

Is there anyone more hated in college football than Lane Kiffin? Gold standard teams keep giving him coaching positions. Does this mean that he's the heir apparent for the Bama job when Saban does his next thing?

The heir apparent is Kirby Smart. LK most likely felt that Bama OC was better than Div2 HC in the long run. He needed to take a step back but this way he stays involved in the biggest college stage. Bama is most likely a launching point for him if he plays it right.

He's probably partying too. Ultimately the university has created a monster and before its all said done Manziel is going to look like boyscout. Ofcourse we have to be "patient" with Winston and crucify Manziel becauses he's just another entitled rich white kid. Such hypocrisy.
