Can't believe that is the best they could do. I get not wanting to pay him but we basically got Buddy Hield and a chance at a decent draft pick.

Oh goddammit! I just saw that. This trade got even worse!

If Kings managment wasnt inept in recent years, they could literally have a nucleus that was:

Isaiah Thomas
Kawhi Leonard/Klay Thompson
DeMarcus Cousins
Hassan Whiteside

They wouldnt even have had to do anything crazy to have this. They literally would have only had to:

Offer IT more than $4M a year.

Not cut Hassan Whiteside.

Draft Kawhi or Klay instead of Jimmer Fredette.

Not trade Cousins.

They could have had one of if not THE best nucleus of players in the NBA, and all they would have had to do was not screw it up.
