RT@WojYahooNBA: Cleveland's belief that Utah will match any Hayward offer sheet is strongly discouraging Cavs from extending one, league sources tell Yahoo.

Rt@TheMontyShow: People are telling me Hayward's agent is the source of the max contract talk and that Hayward if patient will eventually get his 15M/yr

Were matching Hayward regardless of price. We have the money, we have to spend the money, theres nobody else available worth it.

Its basically going to be Gordon's lucky day. We see him as a longterm guy, we have to spend the money anyways, and all the star f/a who are better arent interested in coming to Utah.

Now its just a game of chicken with teams who want to make us sweat over the price.

If Cleveland is out thats huge and just really leaves PHX and Boston as the most serious contenders.

Hayward doesnt want to go to Cleveland. Plus his own team is basically willing to pay whatever it takes.

I don't know about that. If that was true they would've overpaid him by now and gave him the max.

And what I mean by that is wouldn't they rather have a contract drawn up how they'd want it than match another team's especially if they're front-loading or back-loading the contract? Seems like it would just be preferable especially with all these other teams more than willing to pay him the max.

Because Hayward knew hed get more money if he waited until free agency. He wasnt going to negotiate early, knowing if he hit the open market, the Jazz would be forced to make the very highest offer.

Hayward knows the Jazz have to reach the salary floor, and theres nobody else to spend the money on. The big boys are going to the large markets, and Hayward is the best of the rest.

Oh I meant more so since free agency started not last year when he was eligible for an extension. Its strange he spent 1.5 days talking to Utah before moving on to Cleveland and I haven't heard anything else about him since. I'm assuming his agent told him to just wait it out until after Lebron and Melo decide on a team because if there's one thing that this summer is showing is that teams are more than willing to spend just to spend. The Jodie Meeks signing in Detroit and the Avery Bradley signing by Boston are just ridiculous.

NO, we have the OPTION to match the offer. Not obligated.
Hayward to visit Hornets next week. good move for the Hornets if they land him. IF the Jazz don't match.

Right, but were GOING to match. It makes no sense not to. Hes the best player on the market that would actually sign here, we have to spend our money on someone, and hes our homegrown guy who we dont have an immediate replacement for.

Don't mind this. Glad Corbin isn't around to start him
I guess it's Novak and a future 2nd for Diante Garrett, who will be waived
Awesome! Got a shooter!
