Overall I think he hurts more than helps, which is why the Cubs basically just didnt want him anymore, and have been trying to give him away for a while.
A day after being acquired by the Dodgers, they decided to let him go

Thats not what that means. They have to pass him through waivers in order to send him to the Minors. He already agreed to be sent down, so its just a formality. They want to give him some time at AAA first.
