Wheeler through 5 with 3 hits, mixing a 96 MPH fastball and and 85 MPH change. Just sawing bats in half, no biggie. I'm sure he will suck

Fuuuu

Not a surprise. Everyone knew Wheeler would be good. Well not Brian Sabean perhaps.

At least you guys got Carlos Beltran

It's the price you pay for seeking the services of an impact player, especially if it is a rental.

Really? What other team has given up one of the top prospects in baseball for a 2 month rental? I dont think thats the going price at all. I think it was a highly inflated price that no team other than the Giants were willing to pay.

The Zack Grienke trade to the Angels is looming large as it contained SS Jean Segura.

Thanks Sabean
5 walks was a little concerning, but it was his first big league start so I'll give him a pass.

Thanks Sabean

Needs to work on walking less batters because he starts out with a 1.50 WHIP.

But then it was his first game.

NO. Kirby Puckett and Jim Rice played their entire careers with one team and were the best player on those teams just about every year. Puckett lead his team to two World Series titles.

Beltran, on the other hand, has played for 4 teams, has never played in a World Series. The Cards won it all the year BEFORE he got there and the Giants won in the year AFTER.

Very good player but Hall of Fame? Not for me. Never the best player in the league and never a MVP.

Is that your honest opinion, or are you just bitter? Lol

Honest opinion for the reasons I just layed out.

You hear about the Mets how they are helping David Wright to get the third base nod?
