I have a feeling were either going to come right of the gate hot, punch them in the mouth, and take it in 5 like 2010, or their SP will mow us down, and itll be a swift butt kicking.
I think theyre making a big mistake by pitching Fister in game 2 over Anibal Sanchez. Sanchez has made 5 career starts against SF, and in 36.1 ip has a 1.98 era. And at AT&T? 3 starts, 25 ip, 0.36 era. 0.68 whip. 2 of the 3 starts were CG shutouts. Thrilled we dont have to face him twice.

Itd be his turn, but in a game 7, you think Detroit goes with Anibal Sanchez on full rest over Verlander on 3 days rest? I guess it depends on how Sanchez looks in game 3.

It wouldnt be on 3 days rest though. Verlander will pitch game 1 and game 5. He would have to come back for Game 7 on just 2 days rest. I think he would be there to come in for relief for sure but doubt he would start over a rested Sanchez.

If you could give me Game 7 at home right now I would gladly take it. My heart wouldnt but I would.

I like the fact that all we have to do is split the first 2 at home, and win 1 of 3 in DET, and we get to come back home again with that chance to win 2 for the title. Its not the ideal route, but the fact that we could only win 2 of the firsts 5 games and still be in a spot to get it done seems favorable.
Its really hard to judge how good this Tigers team is. They underachieved all season long, and got hot at the right time in late Sept. They almost got taken out by the A's, and IMO the Yankees laid down in the ALCS after Jeter got hurt. They have a TON of talent, but the Giants have the momentum, and that "magic" going like in 2010.
On paper you could probably say Tigers in 5, but hopefully they end up being cold after such a layoff. They kind of skated through the ALCS after that game 1, so its been quite a while since they really played a "sweating bullets" intense playoff series. Verlander last pitched 8 days ago, so hopefully being off a normal schedule will be an issue.

Detroit certainly has the best pitcher and the best hitter in all of baseball. On paper, they should win this WS. However, upsets happen all the time in sports. Hoping this is another of those times.

Something about hearing Marco Scutaro being the "hottest hitter" just doesn't sit right with me...

doesn't matter. if you guys eliminated the nationals instead of cardinals in the NLCS...marco scutaro being the nlcs mvp would still seem weird.
