Ya, the Rockets are a couple million shy of being able to offer Dwight a max deal, so they'd have to trade someone. But they'd be able to dictate terms to the Lakers, because if the Lakers didn't take Asik, someone else would. It's a different situation than the Warriors.

While it's totally possible, it's never sat well with me, even when everyone was saying it would be them. Reasons why I think he goes to Houston over the Warriors:
1) He will say a lot of money in taxes. Millions of dollars
2) The Rockets will be his team. In my opinion, Steph Curry will always be #1 in Oakland
3) The Warriors will most likely have to obtain Howard via sign and trade and have to give up Barnes or Klay.
