Sixers is a team that can absorb some of those contracts for a 1st rounder next year. They should have some extra motivation in facilitating this to get back at Lakers for trading them "Bynum the Bum" with a bum knee.

They could absorb Biedrins & Jefferson (or come close), but they couldn't accept Bogut or Lee and one of those bad contracts. But why would they want to pay $20M for two scrubs? So they can have Golden State's 25th pick in next years draft? That's a whole lotta revenge they'd be seeking against the Lakers.
This would be a whole different conversation if the Dubs had amnestied Biedrins when they should have, btw.

Haha yea, that was a terrible move by the Warriors and taking on Jefferson contract.
As far as the Sixers are concerned...they must spend at least $49M on salaries. On NBA trade machine, they're accounted for around $35M in salaries. I'd imagine that they'd rather spend this money on scrubs so they can land the top 3 pick in next years draft.

They're actually just a little north of $42M, because they haven't signed their rookies yet, and they'll probably exercise their Team Option on Justin Holiday. ($780K) Perhaps they would take on Jefferson or Biedrins, but again...that's pretty generous in exchange for a 1st Round pick that's probably going to be in the mid-20's.

A team like the Cavs may be very interested in the services of Bogut. They want to make the playoffs and are $18M away from the figure of $49M (salary cap floor). Bogut will be an expiring contract too...so that can be an asset at the deadline if Varejao is healthy and Zeller is progressing.
Adding Bogut for free has to be enticing for some teams that are tryin' to make the playoffs.

Yes, I think the Cavs are an option for Bogut. But you still need to get rid of Biedrins and Jefferson. Not impossible, but very difficult. Supposedly they've been trying to do that for quite some time with no takers, even when attaching a 1st Round pick to them.

True...but in next year's draft a pick in the 20s is probably better than no. 10 pick in some of the past drafts. New Orleans have improved their team...so I doubt Sixers are gettin' a top 7 pick. They may be able to package Warriors pick and NO pick and jump right back in top 7-10.
Sixers are in a full rebuild mode. They have to spend $49 and they have to suck in 2013. Warriors will have to find couple of teams to pull this off. It'd be help if some team is in love with David Lee.

Definitely...it's going to be hell tryin' to get rid of all of them. Plus, Dwight is fickle. He can change his mind after he's made a decision and as of right now - he hasn't even made up his mind.
But, IMO - Lakers have no leverage. If Warriors have $20M of trade exception...I think Lakers will gladly take that rather than lose him for nothin' to Houston. Just my opinion though...but I'd imagine all the cap space in 2014 AND $20M of TE would put them in control of free agency in 2014.

Right, but the Sixers aren't far away from $49 as it is, and let's say you trade Biedrins & a '14 1st to Philly, what do you offer the next team to take Jefferson? A '16 pick? Good luck with that. There are only a couple of teams in the league that have enough cap room to absorb David Lee, and I don't think many are going to want him at his salary.

The Lakers have plenty of leverage. Unless the Dubs can pull off some trades and free up the requisite salary cap space, they need the Lakers to agree to any deal that's made. And outside of LeBron, there's nothing in 2014 FA that's worth pursuing, IMO.

It will interesting to see if they can pull it off. But, IMO - they only need to get TE worth of Dwight's 1st year salary. Doubt Lakers pass up an opportunity to get a huge trade exception going in to 2014 FA.

But, apparently Warriors sold Dwight on the idea of playing with Curry, Klay, and Barnes. If Warriors do trade one of those guys - he may feel Houston is the better option. In that case, Lakers lose Dwight for nothing and IMO - that's the worst case scenario for them.

Again, there isn't much that's worth pursuing in 2014 FA, and a huge trade exception essentially negates the cap space that the Lakers would have. It expires a year after the trade is made, and anyone they acquired with it in the mean time would count against the available salary cap space that they'd have in 2014. I can say with 100% certainty that the Lakers aren't trading Dwight to the Dubs for a trade exception. In fact, if the Dubs were in a position where the trade would generate a trade exception, they wouldn't have to trade with the Lakers at all...they'd just sign him. Trade exceptions are generated when there's a gap in the salary that's coming back, and GSW can't absorb Dwight unless they pawn off Beans/Jefferson/Bogut. If they can do that, there's no need to trade for Dwight at all.

We don't know that. In fact, I'd have a hard time believing that Harrison Barnes is a deciding factor for Dwight. Curry, Klay, & Lee are still better than Harden, Parsons, & Lin.
And I don't think losing Dwight for nothing is the worst case scenario.

i don't know why you guys want that cancer Howard. you already have a top 5 starting lineup. Trading young talent like Barnes or Klay is stupid for an emotional little girl like Dwight.
