Real vs. ManU was excellent. Both teams had great opportunity to score the 2nd. RVP had couple of excellent shots at the goal but also missed an easy chance where he really should have scored to pretty much send Real Madrid packing from Champions League.
Still, ManU is in the driver seat after getting 1-1 tie and heading home. Should be a great second leg.

Wow..can't believe Barca gave up the 2nd goal. It's going to be tough 2nd leg. Played like crap....
Full credit to Milan for making their chances count and they played great on defense.

Barcelona's run of dominance is over. Bayern will be the new Ajax of the late 80's
CR7 has been the finest player in the World for atleast 2 years running now.

Way too early to proclaim that. You do realize that they are playing without their manager last few games?!?
I'm not even sure what to say about - "at least" 2 years running now.

I don't think so 3 straight losses. Now basically lost to a real second string team. Messi is still the best player in the world but they are depending on him to much. Almost to the point where they just believe that he will some how pull it out for them. I don't think it's the manager either. They will be out if the champions league. The core of the team is aging and the young players are not living up to potential.
Bayern will be the most dominate in Europe I agree. They are already the most complete team and with pep coming in it will only get better. Rumors are they could land neymar, or falco or Luis Suarez.

Spot on. The ''excuses'' do exist like: They are without their manager, they are injured, they have played a lot of games
Speaking in terms of Champions League quality, I am not very impressed by guys like Pedro, Busquets, Alba or Puyol (Guy is done). If Spain doesn't replace some of those guys with younger and superior options, for example Javier Martinez from Bayern, Spain will also lose in World Cup 2014
Ronaldo has badly out played Messi....In Games That Matter.
How telling is it that Messi and Barcelona can't be stopped in La Liga (until today) and yet Celtic and AC Milan had their way with them. I think it's very telling on La Liga's inability to counter.
If I'm ranking the leagues. At this moment it is
1. EPL
2. Bundesliga
3. Seria A
4. La Liga
5. Ligue 1
Messi is a great player but no where near the likes of Zidane or Brazilian Ronaldo. He's too one dimensional, too easy to slow down and even shut down by some because of his small stature. CR7 is the total package. He has no weakness in his game and can score from so many different ways. I can't remember the last time I watched Portugal or Real Madrid and CR7 didn't score. It's mind boggling.

I agree with you for the most part, however messi is the best player in the world he does not have the physical capabilities of Ronaldo but he is still increadibly difficult to stop and he almost always comes through. His records are amazing and can't be argued. Ronaldo is a close second no doubt one of the best all time and one of the entertaining to watch.
Also IMO the bundisliga has the highest quality of play. They may not have the big names and amazing players but the style of play is amazing so tactically sound, organized and attack oriented. Great article on espnfc about it earlier in the week

They're just not the same without Xaviesta in top form. I ain't seeing Xavi's successor in that current roster.

lol @ 49ers fans for saying not having the coach is an excuse or not the reason for their teams failures. Then, in the same post hailing Bayern as the next big thing bc they have hired Pep. C'mon guys - lets not go all Niner Talk in here. I agree with one thing - Puyol is done. Barca will sign the best CB they can in summer.
