I'm reading the gamecast on espn and they're saying that it may have been Ronaldo's choice to not shoot at the 4-spot. I'm not sure, but apparently Nani waived Alves off before his make. If that is the case, I think Ronaldo wanted the 5-spot with a chance to be the hero.

I would assume so, but he should have taken the 4th. If Portugal doesn't clarify how all this went down, this will remain an abosulte mystery to me. Did the coach decide that Ronaldo was 5th? Did Ronaldo have the choice (because Nani did, apparently)?

your best PK shooter, assuming it's him since I don't know the team that well, should kick either 4th, 3rd or 1st but NEVER 5th
