Power at 2B, and he walks a ton. The k's and horrible avg. are definately a drawback, but strikeouts are becoming more and more acceptable in todays game. A new MLB total K record has been set like 5 or 6 years in a row now.

Their entire lineup is 100+ k guys with power though, so theyll live and die by it.

It doesn't work. Strike outs, a few homers and average defense doesn't work.

Pitching, timely hitting and great defense wins.

tell that to the braves who traded for him and got a huge contract from them. While I agree with your assessment, by possess similar skill sets as Uggla @ 2B, they're going to get paid.
arias is hitting .286?

when did this happen? FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Their pitching has been fantastic, so its not hurting them so far.
UPTON KILLED THAT BALL....

But wow, he's having a poor season.
nice 2-1! i heard cliff lee wants out too, he always a consistant winner, might be worth a look.

The Phillies will likely be looking for someone with more high end prospects.

Now it's 3-1

I think that if the there's a team that is willing to take on the remainder of lee's salary, how could the Phillies say no? But, I agree with 99. I don't think they're in the mode to dump salary and rebuild. (like they should) They're naive in thinking that they're contenders and they should hold onto their aging asset like they're going the playoffs. If they were real with themselves, they should look for mid range prospects and a team that is willing to eat some of the salary.
