Now that Sanchez is back, Quiroz really needs to go back to Fresno. He doesnt hit, and hes been bad behind the plate.

Side note: Eli is hitting .165 for Round Rock this year.

It's not like Hector Sanchez is tearing it up at the plate. His BA is .143 while Quiroz is barely better at .158

At least Sanchez is young and developing...
Quiroz was up because they wanted Sanchez to get every day AB's down at Fresno.
Eli Whiteside was still a good defensive catcher, but Quiroz offers nothing. Hes getting dangerously close to being in Edwards Guzman range. Or as Larry Krueger liked to call him "no power, no speed, no average, no defense"

Wouldn't be surprised to see Johnny Monell sometime soon if Quiroz and Sanchez continue to struggle as Posey's backup.

Awesome job Giants. They got greedy with Gaudin's innings, and it cost them. Shouldve just taken the 5 innings and pinch hit for him with the man on 3rd last inning.

He hit pretty well in the Spring and Sanchez looked like crap. Then Sanchez got hurt. I have a theory that Bochy also loves veteran Catchers who can't hit and have average throwing arms because he was one.
