4) He wouldnt be cheap

Other than that.. good idea.
Has had an up and career. Apparently, not a feasible option.

The chances of him signing with the Giants are so remote it isnt even worth considering. The Giants do not have a starting spot open (and he wont sign to be a long reliever) and SF is way too far from his family which has always been a priority for him. I would think a team like Philly would make the most sense IF he did come back which I highly doubt.

The x-factor nobody has mentioned is that he sucks. Hes old and crappy, thus the Giants wont sign him regardless.

The thing about that is............ he had an amazing 2nd half of the season in 2011 and was one of the best pitchers in baseball and then retired. He had a whip of 0.86 to lead both leagues and struck out 96 batters in 96 innings. It was just so odd that he left the game after one of his best stretches ever.

HGH???

Thats not enough to go off of though. He hasnt been a consistant, quality big league SP since he was with the Expos in 2003.

Never said I wanted him and in fact laughed it off pretty much. I just said he left after one of his best stretches in his entire career.

The Giants rang in the new year with a contract for veteran pitcher Scott Proctor.

The TC Palm cited his agent in reporting Proctor, who turned 36 today and most recently played for the Doosan Bears of the Korean league, was offered a minor league contract by the Giants and invited to spring training.

Giants pitchers and catchers are scheduled to report to Scottsdale on Feb. 12.

The right-hander last pitched in the majors for the Yankees in 2011. Proctor also played for the Dodgers and Braves in his career, which began in 2004.

Proctor had a nice year for the Bears in Korea in 2012 with a 4-4 record to go along with 35 saves and a 1.79 ERA. Over his seven-year major league career, he owns an 18-16 record and a 4.78 ERA.

Largely a middle reliever and setup man, he told the TC Palm that he developed a split-finger fastball during his time in Korea.

"It was something that I had been tinkering with for years, but it is a dangerous pitch that puts a lot of strain on your arm. You try not to go down that road unless you have to."

Proctor had Tommy John surgery in 2009.
So how many Giants are participating in the WBC

Pretty hilarious, especially delusional Sox/Yanks fans.
