2013 San Francisco Giants Thread

The Angels have just gone full retard
Thank goodness Brian didn't sign el Gordo, Joselito Uribe. That would have made me ill.

Why sign Torres, if Brian has got something up his sleeve for LF? Seems as if he taking a big gamble that Brown will be ready in 2014 and that Torres will not revert to his sub par major league seasons in 2013. We shouldn't pay someone 2 million to be a pinch runner in the late innings.

Sabean doesnt want to give Swisher a reasonable 4/45 deal, but instead chooses to platoon Blanco and Torres, two guys he got lucky with from the scrap pile. They were both just career minor league guys who had one special season that helped with a ring. Banking on them again is foolish. Torres could barely stay above AAA for the Mets when he wasnt hurt.

Its annoying because we all know Sabean is going to now have to trade for a LF bat midseason to fill the gaping hole he failed to cover. We couldve just paid 10-12 mil a year for Swisher, but will now weaken the farm system to get a similar type guy to "defend our title".

You are hilarious with all this 'luck' nonsense.

I really like this signing. We add a switch hitter who has stellar speed and defensive range that can play all outfield positions. He can steal bases. We don't need him to be a dynamic leadoff hitter like he was in 2010. Another good fit for our ballpark. He also has pop and can run into some HRs now and again. He's a fan favorite and good clubhouse guy on the cheap.

Great overall signing, IMO and I think platooning LF with Torres and Blanco will be ideal for both players.
I still think Peguero is going to see time in LF as well.

Lol, you and john are just relentless with the constant Sabean bashing...you even worse than him believe it or not. It gets ridiculous after a while. Every move he makes you piss and moan about. Every one that turns out right is nothing but luck. You have zero clue about what he and Bochy discuss with their plans for LF which may include Belt, Peguero, and yes even Brown at some point this year. Torres for 1/$2 is a low risk low money deal for Christ sake. Go find something else to b***h about.

Josh Hamilton was not becoming a Giant with that contract.

Don't you remember? Sabean could have offered him 3/$75 and he would have signed here. If only Sabean had done that.

You and a few others on here have a hard time giving up the past. At the time, there wasnt a SINGLE TEAM that offered Hamilton a 4+ year contract. Not one. Thats when myself and others said if THAT is all he is being offered, we should throw our names into the hat. I still dont see the problem with what a few of us said, given the circumstances at the time.

Let it go dude.

Nobody in their right mind believed that Hamilton would sign for 3/$75. I didn't actually remember it was you who made the original comment until you reminded me just now. And it doesn't surprise me that it was you.

I think that you have a bad habit of posting odd comments without thinking and then disappearing. We all do it from time to time, but you seem to have perfected the art. I don't hold any grudge against you personally but I just think that you are often wrong about most everything regarding the Giants and Warriors. I haven't read any of your 49er posts and don't really want to but I can't imagine them being much different.
Does anyone know where i can watch the road to the world series that aired on espn?

How was I wrong? All I said was that IF (if, if, IF) Hamilton signs a 3/$75M, we better have made a similar offer. I dont understand what is so difficult to understand about that. And no, you are incorrect in saying that "I originally brought it up," but rather I was responding to the topic.

Theres really no need for the second part of your post. I dont disappear, nor do I made a ton of odd comments. I have been a consistent poster since I joined here....not that I should have to justify it for you. If you would like to continue to hold the David Lee comment over my head, fine. I deserve it. However, how he has played for 20+ games this season shouldnt override the rest of his time here. But thats fine. Like I said, continue to keep holding little things against me and I will continue to keep brushing it off.

The 2012 World Series film? May have to try MLB Network as they occasionally show the previous WS films. But you may have to wait as they have their ballz deep in Josh Hamilton right now.
