If the Giants can privately finance a studium, then how come the A's cannot do it. I know it's not a popular thing to do but it must be better than trading your very young players and losing fans. For heaven's sake, the a's fans are jumping ship to our side of the bay now and that makes me

The A's have tried to go after big names like Adrian Beltre or Rafael Furcal in the past and believe it or.not they threw money at them but they don't want to play in a piece of crap colliseum.
Beltre took less money to go to Texas and furcal took the same amount from the dodgers that we offered him. No one wants to play in that stadium and the A's are going to suck and will be operating like this until they get a real stadium.

Its not JUST that you guys need a new stadium. I mean, yes you guys do need a new stadium, but it not the ONLY reason you guys arent a good baseball team. As far as trying to sign Beltre and Furcal, again, its not JUST because your stadium sucks. Its because your team does as well.
In the early 00s, all the stars aligned and your young studs all were good at the same time. But you have ALWAYS had a problem of not being able to afford your top talent. Once its time for your good players to get paid, they are gone. Or they are traded before, knowing that you couldnt afford them. Its a management/ownership issue.
And lets be real. The A's fanbase isnt what it used to be. Just because your stadiums sucks, doesnt excuse the fact that there arent many fans in attendance.

-Cry me a river. If ownership wants a new stadium, privately finance the damn thing. It may not be popular, but follow the Giants motto. They had to make that s**t happen, San Fran did not have its back. If Selig won't give you an answer, make your own solution. I blame ownership for not taking a proactive approach. They are trading CHEAP YOUNG players for players who are like 3 years younger than themselves. It's not like Gio and Cahill are in the last year of their deals; they are relatively cheap for the amount of money owed to them relative to their talents. They are bargains and the A's "cannot afford them?" So as far as I am concerned, the a's fans need to quit the b***hing and blame ownership 100%
