No but they probably thought Joe Thornton could only play center.Toews and Crosby are better then Joe Thornton.
Bergeron gets one Center spot because he is a PK player, Joe isn't on the same level as him.
Meaning only one center spot left. They gave it to Getzlaf over Joe. Getzlaf is younger, in his prime and projects better on olympic ice. And yeah Joe is killing it in assists, but 12 goals in last 93 games?? Not to mention Joe is still known as a player that can't be counted on to come through, much like the Sharks.
I don't know why Sharks fans are upset, its better that Joe, at 34 years old, get the rest and is healthy for playoffs.
