The guys on our defense has progressed well enough to allow burns to be a forward for all of next year.

However, I'd like to see him back on Defense with those other forwards in our system get playing time.

I think wherever he goes means certain prospects get less PT. If he goes to defense, that's less time for guys like Tennyson, Petrecki, and Abeltshuaser/Doherty/Acolatse. Offense, less chances for Hamilton, Nieto, and Hertl.

We have several spots open next year on offense. Just likely 1 on defense

Hertl gets a mill per year?

Just depends if they think they have more NHL-ready defenders or NHL-ready forwards. Hertl signed for 3 years 1.35 million per.

if he wants to stay at 900k at year

to big of a risk to sign to a significant deal. He has a target on his back (unfairly to some degree)

He's definitely on Shanahan's s**t list. I would let him walk.
Wonder what was the more dirty...raffis play or Keith stick to the mouth?

Either way they won't suspend Keith for whole series. I'd be surprised if they even suspend him at all. If they do suspend him, they must discipline Richards as well (prolly won't though)

I feel the same. For a decent price I say we keep him. Guys like Desjardins can be replaced more easily than Torres. Torres brings a different kind of presence to the team that I think we need.

also for what its worth, i feel like Desjardins had a better impact for our team than Gomez did at any point.

Really? I don't know about that one. Gomez was outstanding in the playoffs. Watching him out there, he was easily one of the top guys on the ice. Desjardins did virtually nothing all year. 3 points in 42 games with a -6 rating, no points in the playoffs and a +1 rating. I would keep Gomez over him. I liked Sheppard a little more, but we'll see what the team does when it comes to decision time.

Not to say he was a superstar or anything, but he was a valuable role player that helped provide energy and create some scoring chances. He had 15 points in 39 games with us playing primarily on the 4th line so I feel like he's being underrated a little bit.

I'd have to agree. He seemed like the only guy able to get the puck across the neutral zone when LA was knocking the snot out of the rest of the team.
