'tis the Sharks' way. Weren't we all about speed like 5 years ago, but then decided we needed to get physical?

It's like we can never seem to build a balanced team with top end role players that push the team over the hump. What we've done just hasn't worked.

easily a good thing, murray is the odd man out. as long as we dont sign a colin white/ kent huskins and play them alomost every night im perfectly satisfied with a defense of burns, vlasic, boyle, stuart, demers and braun. all 6 of them can actually skate and stuart gives us good pk if mclellan and his new staff can fix the f**king pk that has killed us for 2 yrs straight

Not DWs style to lowball people over a meager $500k. Plus think about who had the leverage here. The pressure is on us to get it done during that month. Low-balling gets no one anywhere fast when they could easily test free agency july 1st.

The fact that he wants to be on the west coast doesn't mean that he's not just as willing to take more money in Detroit, he was quoted saying something along those lines that he's just as happy returning to the wings next year. While location gives us an advantage in negotiating, it's not something that you can hold over a player to demand that he take $1 million below his market value. This is a money business afterall.
