Yeah, you got kicked around pretty hard over the past couple of seasons. Rejoice, bro...your team deserves a lot of credit for ousting the defending champs in this fashion.

Jordan never rode the coattails of one of the most dominant centers ever. Hell, he never rode anybodies coattails. Kobe rode Shaqs coattails for over half of the championships he's had. The only reason LA got rid of Shaq is because of age, if he was still in his prime at the time the whole feud went down LA would have given Kobe the boot. They went with longevity and it paid off after a few years. Jordan had a good supporting cast especially in Pippen but Kobe has/had Gasol, Odom, Fisher, Horry, Artest, Bynum and the aforementioned SHAQ, and others im sure im leaving out. Jordan never had that type of talent.

Jordan was a better shooter, defender, rebounder, better assist numbers, and a better teammate. When Jordan got on his teammates at times it may have seemed harsh but his teammates elevated their game with his criticism. When kobe does it it just comes off as bratty and his teammates never look like they respond.

Not to mention who knows how many more rings Jordan could've had if he hadn't gotten "bored". the years he was gone were all years the bulls could have easily have won the championship. And Jordans numbers could have been even greater than they are (2 retirements, and actually went to college)

Bingo. The difference between Kobe and MJ (besides the number of rings) is that MJ made everyone around him better. The guy was a coach on the court, and he got exponentially better at it as he got older. Kobe has just been about Kobe since he arrived in the NBA, and it's only gotten worse as he's gotten older.

The Lake show is on its way down. The next power in the West is gonna be OKC,and sadly my Dubs will continue to tickle the taint of our conference

Jordan most likely made Pippen into the competitor that he was from the grueling practices in which Jordan was known for blood and sweat. Many players from the Bulls went on to other teams and did nothing.

But Pau Gasol, Odom, Ariza, Fisher all played for different teams and were probably the best in their career when on Kobe's team.

lakers arent going down, they can trade anyone but kobe and get a star like paul or even howard if their teams think they have no shot of resigning them. paul is pretty much a lock not to resign with NO

Bliz, the difference is that Jordan made his surrounding cast great (examples: Pippen, Paxon, Oakley, Rodman) these guys were at their best in Chi BECAUSE of MJ.

You can't say the same of Odom, Gasol, Shaq, etc with Kobe. That is the primary difference between the two.

Until they can shore up the paint, they'll struggle against teams with skilled big men. Nowitsky beat Gasol like Ike Turner for the entire series. The lakers aren't built to win on the perimeter. They need a dominant big man...and I don't see them getting any better at the 4 or 5 this offseason.

This more than anything. These things can be said by fans of a few teams in the league and it's true when that team plays most teams.

No way Lakers win this series at their best. Dallas is just the better team and the only way Lakers win is no different than what teams in the past would need to do in order to beat the Lakers, which is playing out of their element.

Lakers would have had to outscore Dallas to win because no way they would have been able to D-up this Dallas team. Too many threats from too many different spots.
