Yorks only got harbaugh to make this team good and spike interest in order to get the stadium built. Now that it is built and people are locked in to SBLs, it's back to the dark days

"There's not some crazy divide of where we are," York said. "When we talked about a deal, Jim very clearly said, 'I don't want to do a deal too early because as a leader of the team, I don't want to set that precedent.'
"When we talked about the contract we offered, it wasn't Jim demanding to be the highest-paid coach. It was him saying, 'I don't think now is the right time because it sets the wrong precedent.' "
Who you going to believe? Jed York or Florio? After all, hasn't Florio been right about everything? When has Florio ever gotten anything wrong?
Next Florio will take off on York and call him a liar.
Florio:
"York was talking about 'a crazy divide' in relation to Jim Harbaugh's contract talks. So yes, there is definitely concern about whether or not Harbaugh wants to coach there. Also, this is a direct quote from Harbaugh himself, 'I don't want to do a deal.' You heard it here first. So the question seems to now be where Harbaugh will coach next. Could it be Cleveland? Could it be Dallas? Who knows? But what we do know is that it's not all strawberries and creme in 49er land right now."
This is the type of journalism we have to deal with in the modern era.
LMAO.
York: "There's NOT some crazy divide..."
Florio: "zomg York said there is crazy divide trollolololol"
Florio is such a f**king tool.

They paid Colin and picked up Aldon's option. No reason they won't make jim the highest paid coach in the nfl.
I think the Niners will certainly pay him...but he has to win a Superbowl first.
Agreed.

Sorry again, I made it up. I was being tongue in cheek. I should have put "Florio will probably write."

Never happen. Jim Harbaugh feels himself a part of that team that takes the field every week. As such he will believe it to set a bad precedence if he accepted a highest in the league contract. Jim Harbaugh will sign a respectable team friendly to 5-10 contract that lets him keep his coaches. Then when Boone, or Davis, or who ever else tries to pull that fat not team friendly contract the team can point to Harbaugh and Kap and.......

Well you are probably right, but considering there is no salary cap for coaches, I'm not so sure he'd turn it down without some 2nd thoughts.

The more and more we know about this situation the clearer it becomes Jim will remain with us and that money is not the issue. Timing is! Jim wants to wait because he feels this is best for the team! All of the hack writers trying to drum up controversy can EAD!

Harbaugh and the front office will blow smoke at the media as always. So their comments about being on the same page are meaningless.
Harbaugh has out performed his contract. This team was a pile of crap before he arrived. He lead us to 3 straight NFC Championships in his first 3 yrs as a HC (first time in history of the league).
He needs to be paid like the he's the best coach in the NFL because that's what he is. I'm sure plenty if teams are ready to give him whatever he wants to turn thier franchise into a Super Bowl contender.
It's a complete failure by Jed that we don't have Harbaugh signed to an extension already. The Niners have already low balled him (he rejected their extension offer last yr and it's not far fetched to think they tried to get him at a bargain). They remain far apart in what they think is a fair contract. That's not a good sign.
I don't think it should take a Super Bowl win for Harbaugh to become the highest paid coach. He has proven his worth....

Niners front office had all offseason to get a deal done and yet no deal has been reached.
I just worry that Jed will think that he can find someone else and we will waste more years with coaches like Nolan and Singletary.

Exactly
Based on Harbaugh's track record, he doesn't stay at one place for too long. I could easily see him leaving after next year. I think Tomsula is next in line for a coaching gig.

I don't think you dudes have been listening to what came out of Jed and Jim's mouths! You've been listening to what's come from the media. SMH. I am not buying all of this doom and gloom the media has been spinning nor what you guys are insinuating. I think that just as Jed said we wanted to give Jim a raise after the Super Bowl 47 but Jim didn't think that it was right to be coming to the table for a deal every couple of seasons. Why can't people take Jim at his word? Why are you so quick to buy what the media has been selling?

I'm not. I think this whole contract situation generated by the media is their way of getting back at him for making them look like fools over and over.
